Hello Dave

Understanding and applying the principles of marketing is important in any business. Dan Kennedy says there are three steps in a total marketing system. These three steps are Message, Media, and Markets. I see online and offline as the media one uses to spread their message. Dave, your conclusion that both are needed really makes great sense. Using offline and online enables you to reach different markets. Sometime we allow labels such as Old School and New School to cause us to forget principles. I agree that we had better figure out a way to implement both an online presence while utilizing Old School methods.

Great post. I have made a name for myself through some heavy social media marketing in the past year or so, however, that hasn’t done a ton for me as a marketer in my own local areas. I attend every networking event I can find around here and that has done wonders for my business.
