Hello Dave and Dawn,
I must say that I do not have a direct follow auto message attached to my Twitter account though I know many people do. When it come to Social Media in general I'm more in favour of people sociable rather than using auto posting software. I can see why people might be tempted to use but in much the same way there are many people how only post to Facebook from their Twitter account I do not feel it is a very sociable way to behave. When I arrive at a Facebook Page where the content has all been auto fed through from a Twitter account I feel that I've the Page owners do not hang out on their own Page and engage their audience so why the heck would I be bothered hanging around?! I'm happier to be active on some networks and leave others well alone if it means spreading myself too thinly and taking on robot characteristics! Great post thanks for sharing!

I have seen more and more direct messages that are spam on Twitter. I have even seen a lot more mentions with my name that are complete spam. The good thing about all the spam is if you use Twitter to build relationships and share value it is easy to stand out. Great post!

Hi Dave and Dawn
I have never really got twitter so I don't realise I have a problem even if I have one... guess that is sublime ignorance. Well, ignorance anyway..... but I do get a bit cross with all those FB messages with random links and placing me in groups etc.... unfortunately there is very little grace out there sometimes.

Thanks for the inspirational TSA Mastery..... excellent service and one I recommend to all of my bloggers!

Best wishes

Finally....a post that clarifies Twitter. People tend to overuse it or just put random quotes on it. Does this ever get you any business? Of course not. The way you brought the essence of Twitter to light was awesome. I've taken some webinars on "how to use twitter" but they were a wash. This post is clear and I recommend that more people should read it.
Thank you for the clarity,

Hi Dave,

Okay - so now I know that I'm not the only one feeling this way. I certainly don't mind what I know to be an automated message that thanks me for following (I do that myself). But, those messages that try to sell me are certainly not what I'm looking for when I make a connection. Although I know my Inbox is full of SPAM I still actually check my messages and have made "real" connections with humans which makes it worthwhile, to me.

Thanks for putting this out there - a much needed message. Let's hope that your message goes viral and those that are sending the junk clean it up.
