Jim Rohn Tribute – Why Not You?

Jim Rohn - One of the Best
I remember back in my corporate life I used to listen to some great mentors. Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy and others just to name a few. But never in my life has anyone changed my thoughts and beliefs like Jim Rohn. Mr. Rohn has given us so much wisdom over the past few years that we could never begin to thank him enough. He has changed our lives.
His passing was a great loss to us all but his legacy will never die.
The most powerful message I remember receiving from Mr. Rohn was his talk on “Why Not You?” He has always been such an inspiration and was always the best at explaining things in such a simple manner. “Why Not You?” really hit home with me and I’ll cherish those words for the rest of my life! Thank You Jim.
He approached this topic by asking four questions: Why? Why not? Why not you? Why not now? As he mentioned over and over again, anyone can change their lives in any two given years. Why not you?
Why not you living in a beautiful beach house in Hawaii?
Why not you traveling to Paris for a weekend getaway with your friends and family?
Why not you becoming smarter because you have read the greatest books in the world?
Why not you having all the money you ever need to live a full life?
Why not you spending all the time you want with you children or grandchildren?
Why not you living a with family that loves you so dearly?
Ask yourself, Why Not You?
That is the key to life. Believe you can do it and, as they say, you can achieve it. Most of Mr. Rohn’s teachings were so simple that, they were easy to do and easy not to do. Just continue to learn and grow. That will be the best tribute we could ever offer back to Mr. Rohn’s legacy and teachings.
“It is the set of the sails, not the direction of the wind that determines which way we will go.” – Jim Rohn

You’re so right that Mr. Rohn’s teachings were “easy to do and easy not to do.” Some of the basic, simple tenants are the ones that I forget to do on a consistent basis. This was a strong reminder from a truly remarkable man. His words can’t be reinforced too often

What a strong reminder from a legend! As you wrote, his teachings are “easy to do and easy not to do.” It is often the most basic concepts that I forget to employ on a daily basis. These four questions cannot be asked too often. We need reminders like this to keep us on the straight and narrow

Dave and Dawn,
Thanks for the recommendation. I've read many self-help books but have yet to read any of Jim Rohn's works. I'll have to put that on the list!

You may wonder who is JIM ROHN? What makes him exceptional in the MLM Industry? These were some of the questions I had and I am sure many people will wonder the same.

Dave and Dawn,
Jim Rohn has been an inspiration to many. I am often amazed at the “nuggets” that come from his teachings. There are a great many “mentors” and “leaders” out there who share concepts with us that can revolutionize the way we think and do business. Jim was especially gifted in this area and has changed the minds of many. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and how he has impacted you. Also thanks for the video…that was a great watch!

Hey Dave & Dawn,
This is great ! OMG !! The questions of “why” mentioned in his video makes me realise some of my why(s) are not strong enough and I must go back to basis to ask myself “why” again.
Thanks so much for sharing such valueable messages to us.
Cheers
Pearly
Hi Dave,
Jim Rohn has inspired me too.
I love the way he said once: ” If they would have taught Wealth 1 and Wealth 2 at school I would have taken it.”
Thank you for sharing those powerful questions.
Having been taught as a child to be happy with what is given to me I am now reconditioning my mind to allowing myself to want more than I have.
Being happy with what I have is a good way to be, because that vibration can attract more good things.
To your success!

What great questions! The “Why” suggests that we all try to do as little as possible, and he’s probably right. The better question — “Why not?” turns all that around, and opens possibilities instead of locking us into things we “have to” do.
“Why not me?” I’ve been saying that ever since getting into internet marketing! If others can do it, why not me? The “now” question is a bit more difficult. But even if things don’t happen quickly, and learning comes slowly, at least we can make a start in the “now.” And after all, the journey is important, too.
Thanks for sharing his message.

I came to your blog today to see this “random post.” The video no longer works, but I get the gist of it from your post.
I know this isn’t supposed to be about me, but I’d like to share something with you…
You posted this on Dec. 11, 2009, the day our family got together for a special celebration. Ian, me and our 7 children, all together for a meal in our home, for the first time in some months. We had a warm, wonderful, loving time that evening. Unbeknownst to us, it would also be the last time we would ever be together. The following evening we lost our oldest son James in a vehicle accident.
James… gone… exactly one week after Jim Rohn.
I remember the day Jim Rohn died too, because it was another special day for our family. We joined another family and took 3 vehicles to the city for an afternoon and evening of fun. James took our youngest and their youngest to McDonalds for supper and a movie and then took them home, while the rest of us attended another event. It was an evening never to be forgotten by the two little boys, because James was always so much fun, no matter who he was with.
We miss James so much. He never made the impact on the world that Jim Rohn did… but he left a huge gap in the world of everyone who knew him. From the elderly to the smallest child, he was loved.
Thanks for letting me share.

Hi Willena,
I’m sorry that I didn’t respond to this comment earlier, but to tell you the truth, this is the first time I saw it.
I was saddened to hear that you lost your oldest son in a car accident. I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been to lose a child no matter what impact they have had on this world. As you mentioned, “James was always so much fun, no matter who he was with.” and that is one of the best impacts anyone can have on the world.
As Jim Rohn had said, “It is better to live in a tent on a beach with the person you love, rather than living in a mansion all alone.” And James wasn’t alone and it sounds like he was loved by everyone he came in contact with.
Please accept our condolences for your families loss,
Dave and (Dawn)
Thanks Dave and Dawn
I love Jim Rohn… learned so much from him.
and…. why not me?
Absolutely…..
he has left a great legacy… a kind, insightful and funny man!
Best wishes
