Don’t You Just Love Your Company’s Convention?

I Could Not Have Been More Impressed!

I have to tell you about the first full scale annual convention that Dave and I went to in Dallas.  Our Company did not hold anything back for all 15,000 of us that filled the American Airlines Center.

The energy level of our Company leaders and all 15,000 associates was beyond compare.  You can be told what such an event is like, but until you are there for yourself, you really don’t have a clue.  The training you receive from the top leaders in that unique atmosphere will change and grow your business in profound ways.

Every person we met felt like a well-known longtime business associate.  It’s so nice to socialize with a great group of people that are going in the same direction we are going and are so willing to help us! Dave and I sure didn’t experience that in our old jobs.  I came to the strong realization that we’ve made the right decision when I was among 15,000 other people who made the same decision and don’t regret it for a minute.

Speaking of meeting great like-minded people at our Company convention, we met Nancy Burke Barr there in Dallas. Many of you who are in TSA know Mentor Mama very well.  We met her through TSA and then learned she was in our primary business as well.  She found us in Dallas and we enjoyed a dinner out filled with great conversation that benefited all three of us.  Here’s a video of this amazing in-person connection with Nancy Burke Barr in Dallas along with tidbits from the convention:

One portion of the convention that has so sealed my belief in our Company was the presentation by a panel of guest speakers.  The panel included eight dedicated attorneys from eight of the many top rated law firms that represent us, the members.  Each attorney shared how much they love representing our Company and its members and told many success stories they have created for the members  They also spoke on how they love being able to make customer service their main priority now rather than just focusing on billing more hours, but that wasn’t the best part.  The very very long standing ovation with claps and cheers of appreciation (and this occurred at least four times during their 45 minute presentation) that these lawyers received from all 15,000 associates and the Company’s leadership was the best part. (I didn’t think that reception could be matched until our Company founder came out later to give his address. Another incredibly deserved outpouring!)

We’ve only had our membership for a year, but we have called our attorneys about six times in that year and that made mine and Dave’s participation in this great bestowing of appreciation as sincere as it could be.  What each of these lawyers do in our closed-panel network of top-rated law firms for all 1.5 million members is truly amazing.

What I expected from going to this convention paled in comparison to what I actually received. So be sure you go to your company’s next convention.  Your belief level will soar through the roof and your commitment will reach to a lifetime!

Please let me know what great experiences you’ve had at your company’s conventions.  I look forward to hearing all the amazing stories. Our Companies in this industry sure know how to treat us right, don’t they?

Committed to Your Success!

Hey, Hey! Dawn and Dave! What a great memory of all the fun we had in Dallas! We are fortunate to be part of an organization that helps people in a very fundamental way.

It was the highlight of my trip to get to meet you both and really solidify our connection from TSA. I felt like I had known you for a very long time and it was gratifying to know that our TSA Leaders are so committed to the prosperity of its members!

Thank you for mentioning me in your post and in the video! Mentor Mama loves Mr. and Mrs. Big Dog!!! YOU ROCK!

    @Nancy Burke Barr, JD
Thank you, Mentor Mama! We wouldn’t have done it without highlighting you! We felt the same strong connection when we met you in person and our relationship yes is very solid now.

Too bad we didn’t have more time to hang out ( we could have rocked the town of Dallas, right?) but then we would have missed all the huge new announcements for our comp plan. Are you ready to make more money??

Thanks for your very kind comments – all the same back to you, Mentor Mama!

Conventions are always a great time. I am currently setting up the travel schedule for next year with many of my own speaking engagements and other awesome conventions like Blog World which just passed and Ryan Dices event both of which come just once a year.

It is always such a pleasure to hang out with the masters of their craft and take just one page from their book.

Thanks for sharing Dawn. I am glad both had fun!!

Motivation is sometimes looked down upon because (people say) it’s too temporary… I like what Zig Ziglar says about that:

“So’s bathing… but we recommend it often.”

I’ve tried to avoid conventions most of my life. It hasn’t been too hard. Why would you want to go hustle with all the people. The travel and the time away from the day to day activities is really a disturbance.

In August the first ever convention and company launch was held. It was close enough I felt I had to go. Man alive. I’ll go every time now! Met GREAT people. Learned fabulous ways to grow my business and established a checkpoint for personal progress!

Thanks for the flood of memories.

Any thoughts on a TSA Convention or Workshop? I’ve enjoyed meeting like minded people and the ideas that are shared at conventions and workshops.

Passion about your business is an awesome thing! One thing I admire about Network Marketing is that there are so many companies that offer superior products and services than you will find in other areas of the marketplace.

The key is to take that passion, knowledge and encouragement that you receive and add some skills and practical business training to help flourish.

Dawn and Dave, I’ve never missed a Convention with SOC. The boost you receive from attending can not be over stated. No matter what company you represent, if you do not make the effort to go to your Conventions then you will become another of the endless line of people who’s Mantra is “Oh, I tried that and it just didn’t work for me”

You guys are so right on. If you’re serious about your business you will get to your company’s first convention when you join without question. Besides the speakers just being around like minded people in your business is a must. It’s important to take your partner as well. I remember when I took my wife, Arni, to our first convention with our company some 8 years ago (she didn’t even know much about what I was doing) and she just walked into the room and felt the energy and said I want to be around these people for the rest of my life. And we are.

    Dawn,
Attending your company’s convention is the best shot in the arm you can get, bar none! Not only do you gain a ton of new friends (well, not many are as incredibly special as Nancy), learn about new product, and become totally inspired by being part of a state-of-the-art company!

Your video was fun to watch. Thanks for sharing the sights of Dallas, and also the information about JFK’s assassination. I’ve read many books about this topic and concur with your gentleman friend’s analysis.

This was a FUN post. You brought back many fond memories …

    Dave and Dawn,

Great to hear you had a blast at your convention. The energy must have been through the roof!

What I love about the National Conventions I’ve attended in the past are 1) The Energy of the People 2) The Vision and Announcements 3) The Connection to the Top Producers.

I recommend anyone who is serious about building their home based business to go to the National Convention.

You two are leaders so it’s not even a question of attending. If you decide to be a leader, then you do what leaders do.

Wishing you peace, happiness, and prosperity!

I agree conventions are awesome, and Nancy is just about the most awesome person in the world. I am excited to know other people realize that.
I had the awesome opportunity to interview her and her mindset and her just everythingness (not a word she’d hate that lol) is just great.
I was beaming after the encounter and am enthused every opportunity i get to speak to her. Keep building.

    Hey there Dave,

What a great post ya got here. I can’t believe you got to get grilled by mentor mama. What an honor! And yes, simply taking the initiative to make it out to your companies conference is absolutely critical. You will meet so many like minded individuals, that will help you reach the top echelon of your company.

How cool is that to meet up with a fellow TSA member at your company’s convention. I just returned from two difference conferences in October and have been energized ever since. They were not conventions with intense training. One was a full-fledge conference, The US Association for Body Psychotherapy. All the presentations focused on trauma and ways to heal. Powerful new brain research. This is an organization for which I was one of the originators, on the steering committee and first few boards. The other event I attended, both were in California, was Braveheart Women Rise. Ellie Drake, the moderator, created a mini academy awards presentation with a hilarious MC and videos of Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg congratulating one of the award winners from the View.

    Hi Dawn and Dave,
I understand your excitment of attending an international convention for your primary company. I have attended several of mine where I felt like a royal queen. They always seemed to pull out all the stops to treat us to a great time. You meet great people, attend outstanding trainings, meet great motivators like les brown, denis waitley, robert allen, tim sales, robert kiyosaki and others…plus are introduced to new products.

I also live in the LA area and can attend local celebrations through out the year.

I agree, if you are an associate to a network marketing company, going to the international convention is a must to seal the deal.

Awesome post. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE conventions. I have been in my company for nearly 14 years and have been to MANY conventions and other events. I love the motivating energy that is that is stimulated and I love connecting with other distributors.

I have seen many downline come home from their first convention with a newly charged motivation that is evident in the growth of their business. It is one of the most important things they can do for their business growth.

    Hi guys!

Yes, there is absolutely nothing like a company convention to put us all on the right track, motivate, and uplift. I was also in Dallas (I think a week after you…) at a convention and yes, it rocked my world.

Love the video, especially the clips with Nancy. It’s so cool that there are so many of us who have been brought together from all parts of the country and the world, through the Internet and the TSA. When we have the chance to get together face to face it’s often like having coffee with an old friend. The world is getting smaller and smaller, and I thank you both for your part in making that happen for many of us!

I could not agree with you more! The attitude in the industry to help others regardless of the upline and the commaraderie like you shared about your friend Mentor Mama is key to reinforce belief and a firm conviction that the company, products and leadership that you chose is taking you in the direction that supports your values.
    Thanks Dave & Dawn!
