Do You Want More? Then Change!

Ostrich Syndrome
If a person doesn’t change themselves, they’ll always get what they got. Period. I’m sure you have heard something along those lines before? And it is very true.
Say a person goes through life doing the same thing over and over again. Do you think they are going to get a different result? Of course not! That would be foolish.
People that do the same thing expecting different results are just plain Stupid!
People go to work at their job everyday doing the same thing day after day but for some reason they can’t figure out why their life Sucks! As our mentor Larry Winget would say, “Their life Sucks because they Suck!” Period. No other reason. It’s that simple. No explanation needed.
The first thing people have to do in order to improve anything in their life is for them to change. Nobody is going to do it for them. The government isn’t. Your boss isn’t. Your preacher isn’t. There is nobody that is going to help you change but YOU. Think about that for a moment…
If a person’s job sucks, then they need to do something to improve it.
If a person’s love life needs improving, then they need to work on it.
People have what they have all because of them and nobody else!
People for they most part would rather get home from work, have a little dinner, then sit on the couch, watch TV and then go to bed just to wake up and do it all over again.
So just remember, it’s YOU and ONLY YOU that can make a difference in your life.
And if not YOU, then Who?
And if not NOW, then When?

Hit the nail on the head!
We were talking about the “Ostrich Syndrome” in my Business Communications class last week and discussing how people who want promotions don't actively do the things necessary to earn a promotion..they just EXPECT it to happen. If someone's life sucks, it's their own fault. We have a choice every single day on what decisions we make, whether we go to work and do a good job or do a poor job and whether we spend the time necessary to improve ourselves long term.
Too many people have the poverty mindset and are held back by fear, ultimately leading to the same failures/sadness over and over again.
Nike's JUST DO IT slogan is what people need to tell themselves if they are to ever make a change.. Great post!
Thanks Chris! I think that I wrote this post after reading Larry Wingets book “Shut Up, Stop Whining & Get a Life” He sums this up better than anyone!
It is simple. We are where we should be, doing what we should be doing. Otherwise we would be somewhere else, doing something else.
You got it bro. So many people want to create success but continue to set in front of the tv. Ain’t gonna work. Keep up the great post.

Hey Dave and Dawn,
Thank you for this post. A lot of people need to read this and evaluate if WHAT they are REALLY doing with their life is actually going to get themselves what they want out of life.
Someone, who will remain nameless and who I love very much, but needs a quick sharp hit up the backside thinks that if they just stroll through life then this perfect girlfriend, perfect job, perfect home, perfect bank balance will just fall out of the sky. WELL IT WONT!
It really frustrates me when I hear mums at the school gates moaning about how rubbish their lives are and I just want to say, well have you looked at things differently, have you tried a different approach, have you spoke to your boss, have you thought about anything other than the problem and how diabolical your life is. NO…oh well you can’t really blame anyone but yourself then can you.
But of course, I am much more refined, subtle and caring to say any of this obscenities but thank you for spelling it out for people so I dont have to lol.
Mucho appreciated,

Beth, I’m actually thinking about changing my approach from being the nice guy blogger to the direct in you face guy like my mentor Larry Winget. What do you think? I guess I will just go as the wind blows on that certain topic. If the subject P%S*ES me off, then go with that. If I’m feeling joyous and full of love, I guess I’ll go with that. Thinking about it, I guess that is me. LOL

Opportunities for change are all around us. And inside of us. If we just get our heads out of the sand, grab hold of one of those opportunities and work it, we’re on our way. I like this quote: “Opportunity is missed by most because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work”. Thomas Alva Edison.
Thanks a landlord it! I acquired yet some insight. Life is so colorful, we should be able to live in, such as Korea and honor the planet. Human life is like rivers, slowly flowing, flowing rivers, flowing through the snow, flows through the prairie and ultimately into the sea, return to the embrace of nature, start a new reincarnation. Allow us to feel the meaning of life will come only to those you have those memories http://www.chaneloutletstores.com/Chanel-bags.html
Hi Dave and Dawn,
great to the point article. Love the picture !!!!!!!
Yes I agree for things to change I have to change, it is the only thing I can change.
The amazing thing is that when I change ‘things’ change.
Example:
I was in a cafe feeling irritated with the people around me and as I became aware of it I decided to try and see the way my Inner Being would see things. Shortly after that I met two lovely friends ‘out of the blue’ and had a great inspiring afternoon.

You know, when I started figuring out what this internet stuff was all about, I felt like I was standing on the brink of a cliff looking down into an abyss. I didn’t know whether I’d fall or whether or not this was even financially possible. Even as I forge ahead on it and gearing up for launching my first subscription seminars this fall, I’m still wondering these things!
So let me do a bit of defending . . . Moving from the frustrating-but-comfortable arena into the totally-unknown can be a very scary task for a lot of people. Yes, it may be lack of willingness to change, but it may also be simply that people don’t have the information they need to even make an intelligent decision. And as I’ve discovered, if one does not have thousands of dollars to pay someone else to teach them and is learning on their own in this business, one learns VERY, V-E-R-Y slowly what one needs to know to make an informed decision!
When I started, I didn’t even know I could learn the how-to’s online. I wonder if a lot of people are in the same boat . . .
Dave,
I agree people must want to change. No one can or will ever be able to change another. Yet, with every great coach, mentor comes the challenge to motivate others to look at present and future. Leaving the past alone.
If you change you environment and activities. You will change yourself. Doing things that are in tune to the way you would like to be and live. Making daily progress and being involved with others that suite the new you, per say.
Having a others who believe in you and supporting your growth will only help. Yet, you must change yourself. How, to do that is what a great mentor, coach will be able to help you with. Knowing that things and self must change is the beginning. That is an amazing step forward. All good things come after that.
Dave, your one of our great mentors in this industry. Your readers and I appreciate all that you do daily to improve our wellness. Thanks for this wonderful and needed subject.

Dave,
A very timely post for me to read. I know for a fact I need to change. Getting a handle on what it is I am doing on a daily basis is what I have been hearing the last few weeks. I have implemented some audio books in my day to days and still find myself spending way to much unproductive time on sites not really connecting with people. Playing games, watching TV shows, and as we used to say “LUNCHING”. Nothing changes when “No” “Thing” changes and I, for one has to find and priortize where I am spending my most productive time. Hell, I ain’t getting any younger.
Thanks for the hit.
