We all know some famous rich people who have become wealthy as a result of the network they built. We know Bill Gates (Microsoft), Sam Walton (Walmart) and Jeff Bezos (Amazon).

Now some of you are looking at this post title and saying to yourself “What the heck is Dave calling me?” I’m not saying that you are using social media to sell your body to others for money but, a lot of people are using social media to push their businesses to make a quick buck. Are you one of the many who has found that their safe secure job is no longer?  Or are you lucky and only your hours have been cut? First, you are so right in the realization that your job, with its insecurity, its income being taxed at the highest rates and its lack of tax deductions, will not create the financial freedom that you are looking for.  We all can now certainly see the insecurity in the job market.  We can all watch and experience the increase in the unemployment rate.  As an employee, your destiny is determined by people who you have no control over, and your personal situation and needs are the farthest from the minds of those that make the decision.

In regards to the tax rates that apply to the earned income you receive from your employment, the tax rate is not limited in any way for this type of income like it is for capital gains or passive income types.  Therefore, if your earned income is significant in amount, it will be taxed in the highest tax bracket which is currently set to be 35% in 2010 and 39.6% in 2011.  Does Uncle Sam deserve that much of your hard earned money? Yes, it’s true, I was on the phone with our financial idol, Robert Kiyosaki! (our dog is named Kiyo, if that gives you any idea how significant Robert’s teachings have been to us!) OK, I suppose you want to know how it happened. Here it is. Myself and 3,000 other network marketers for our primary business were on the phone as Robert and his wife Kim were the guest speakers on one of our team conference call Sunday night. Did I care that I had to share his wisdom and the sound of his live voice with 3,000 other people? No way! I was so happy that so many of us could have such a fantastic experience, receiving personal guidance from the financial master.

And guess what else was even better! Robert (yes, I feel I can call him by his first name now since he spoke to me on the phone!) was specifically endorsing our primary business! How do “YOU” treat other people? Are you respectful and courteous or is it all about you? Do you treat people like you would like to be treated or are you going to be successful at “ANY COST”?

I can’t tell you how many people we come across in this industry or in life that are not respectful of others. So many times we are in a rush to get to a certain place in life that the attitude seems to be ME ME ME. Generation “X” is a perfect example of this – the I want it FAST and I want it NOW mentality. And why not? They grew up with everything at the push of a button. Can you imagine them using a rotatory phone? If some poor sap had a few “0’s” in their phone number, I bet you that they wouldn’t have any friends now days using that OLD rotatory phone. We are all in a rush these days but we need to step back and analyze how it’s impacting society.

Does anyone look at their Twitter Direct Messages (DM’s) anymore?  They are pretty much nothing but SPAM!

Once in a great while I’ll take a look at my DM’s to see what’s in there.  After going in and taking a look, I always think, why in the world did I just waste my time looking at those Direct Messages (DM’s) again.  There’s never anything in there but Spam or Auto Responder messages.  I shouldn’t say that 100% of DM’s are all that way, but I would say that over 90% of the one’s I receive are some form of SPAM.

Unfortunately the nice newbie’s to Twitter don’t understand this yet and they send a sincere message that most of us will never see.  Sorry about this New Users to Twitter!  Nothing personal, it’s just the way it is.
