If your leadership skills suck it’s because you SUCK! Those are some harsh words aren’t they. Too Bad. The question you have to ask yourself is whether it is true or not? The only reason I am saying this is to make you feel a little uncomfortable. If I have accomplished that, then I did what I set out to do.

You see, the only time we change in life is when we are uncomfortable PERIOD

As you are reading this, you are probably sitting in your chair and when you get a little uncomfortable you’ll probably move around until you find that perfect relaxed position. If you are not uncomfortable, then you probably won’t do a thing to make things better. Right? That’s no different than being a follower vs. a leader.

So, be truthful with me and more importantly, with yourself. Are you the Leader you want to be in life? Are you maybe just a little too comfortable where you are and you are not willing to go to that next level because it will be UNCOMFORTABLE?

I have personally faced my own struggles, self doubts in life and shortcomings to the point where I was doubting my progress every single moment of the day. We moved away from very lucrative careers striving for a better life down here in Florida. We opened businesses locations which were making over $150,000.00 per year to lose them to a competitor. We tried and tried with little success in some of these areas. We started Network Marketing with the dreams of becoming rich over night. Man, we were naive! We started using social media thinking that it will be the answer to our prays rather than our warm market. Once again, we were naive! Not until we realized that it wasn’t the businesses and it was “us” did we start becoming successful. Then when it really became uncomfortable, that is when we made a commitment to ourselves to do whatever it takes to overcome and achieve MAJOR SUCCESS in life.

We learned that with anything in life, you have to be willing to pay the price and grow! And believe me that there is a price for everything in life. With success there is a price and what is even a worse price is failure. Personal awareness and self development was the right path for us. If you don’t acquire the skills to become better, you never will.

Becoming a Leader in your business and personal life will set you free to become whatever you want to achieve. When you really want to become a great leader and you want to take your business and personal life along a faster path… your Education & your Expectations is the key which unlocks your success.

When you realize and answer ‘YES’ to wanting to become a better leader… then you have the heart of a CHAMPION who will ‘do whatever it takes’ to create your dreams.

You will need to trust me to believe there is another view . . . as I have been there and will tell you exactly how it is even if it’s not what you want to really hear. Making you feel uncomfortable is the best way I know how to make you want more in life. Without change and stepping out of your “COMFORT ZONE”, you’ll always get what you got and don’t you deserve more?

Now some of you are looking at this post title and saying to yourself “What the heck is Dave calling me?” I’m not saying that you are using social media to sell your body to others for money but, a lot of people are using social media to push their businesses to make a quick buck. To me, this is very similar to a “Street Walker” asking every John that passes her what can I do to get your money? When it comes to social media, are you going to be a force for good? Or are you going to turn to the dark side – ruining your chances and infuriating those who cross your path?

Are You A Social Media Prostitute?

Social media when used properly is about building relationships and not about instant money. I’m sure all of you see it time and time again, but maybe you don’t realize that you may be doing similar things. Selling your reputation for a quick sale in social media will be your demise in the future. Just like a prostitute, many people on the internet are looking for the quick buck! For those who use this approach, the money will come from time to time, but in the end, do you really think these people can hold their heads high? Building integrity should be first and foremost and then the monetary rewards will come in the end.

Unfortunately too many people using social media don’t understand these basic concepts. Everyone is looking for that Winning Lotto Ticket and will do almost anything to hit those winning numbers. Social Media is not a sprint. It’s a marathon! Building relationships for the future should be our focus and not about some small instant gratification today.

Now what do I mean when I say “Are You A Social Media Prostitute?” Let’s take a look at it from a funny comedian’s perspective to keep it lite and humorous. As Jeff Foxworthy might say:

Do you add friends on Facebook and then immediately pitch them on your business? Then you might be a Social Media Prostitute!

Do you upload videos on the internet mainly about your opportunity? Then you might be a Social Media Prostitute!

While building your relationships on the internet, you’re thinking how can I sell this person! Then you might be a Social Media Prostitute!

If you have more than two posts on your blog about your business and give links to your biz site. Then you might be a Social Media Prostitute!

When you post a Tweet that redirects them for a way to make you money, then you might be a Social Media Prostitute!

Dawn and I see this all the time and most of us don’t like it when it’s done to us PERIOD. We know how a lot of people feel out there. Times are tough and we see all this potential to make money because we have all these friends We are probably in the top 10% for the most friends and followers on the internet, but Dawn and I don’t use this social media spamming approach to make money. Don’t get me wrong. I would love to make a lot of money right now, but social media spamming isn’t going to make this happen. Your reputation and the way you treat others in life is what should come first and foremost! I struggle with this every day myself and want that winning lotto ticket, but I am not going to become a Social Media Prostitute in order to achieve it!

Do me a favor and leave me your thoughts on this post. Am I on target or should we cave in and become a Social Media Prostitute like over 90% of the rest of the people on the net?

First off, I want to say that this post may tick a lot of you people off PERIOD. I know it will because most of you are so emotionally involved with your product or service and what I am about to say, is going to make you upset. That’s fine. We all need a reality check once in awhile to make sure that we are headed down the right path. While this post is not intended to push you in to our business opportunity, it is intended for you to evaluate your current business and make sure you understand what it is you may be marketing.

Dawn and I got started in Network Marketing after reading some books by Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki and others. Unfortunately when we first started in this industry we were IGNORANCE on fire. We got caught up in all the HYPE the company was pushing and really didn’t look at it from a TRUE business professional standpoint. They dangled the Black Mercedes, the Jets, the Big Piles of Money, Vacations and of course Residual Income for the sales pitch. Guess what, we too fell for it, hook, line and I think I choked on the sinker!

I mean come on, if all these dumb, stupid people can make all this money, certainly two professionals like Dawn and I can do it too. What we realized in the end, we were actually the stupid people ourselves! We did everything according to the system just like they said to do. We bought over $4,000 of product because that is what it takes to really make this business work. We talked to everyone while following the system to a tee. We thought we were doing great and right on course since we put in over 30+ people in our business. We were sure we would be successful since a lot of the top people that were making over a million dollars a year only sponsored about that same amount. We were on the path to greatness!

The work was hard convincing people that we had the best product on the market. Plus, if they didn’t want to DIE, they had better start taking it themselves. Then in the next month or so another company came along with SUPER Juice PlUS! Weeks go by and another, then another, then capsules and by the way, you can buy about the same thing at Walmart for less than a ¼ of the price. So then you start telling people but, “You can’t make money off of buying it a Walmart and you do want to have residual income in your life, don’t you? Trust me guys, most of these companies don’t last and most of the BIG MONEY is made from the leaders in the industry that already had past downlines in other businesses.

Now I’m not saying that “some people” don’t get lucky and really do hit it big. Anyone can hit the Lotto if all your numbers hit just perfectly. But the success factor is stacked against you! Most people are not mentally at that point in their lives and don’t offer enough value.

So many network marketers out there are telling you how to become successful when they haven’t achieved success themselves. There is way to many Bologna Juices out on the market and you have to be careful not to get caught up in all the hype. What do I mean by that? Most of them are a bunch of crap because the only reason that most people buy in, is because of the Business Opportunity and it’s really not about the product. I’m not saying that most of these companies don’t have a great product, they do! I’m just saying that most people wouldn’t even that a second look at products or services unless they can make money. And that in my opinion Ladies and Gentlemen is a bunch of crappy Bologna Juice!

Be truth with yourself like Dawn and I did. Really, I mean really evaluate your opportunity and future opportunities while asking yourself, “is this product or service at fair market value?” or “Am I in this business because of the money and my future for residual income?” But what does residual income really mean, if the company goes out of business. hmmmm

The kid in this Bologna Commercial is Cute but, being emotionally attached to a bad business is a bunch of BOLOGNA!

A lot of people do nothing but waste their time with Social Media. I mean think about it for a second. Typing on Twitter that “I just ate a dill pickle.” Who gives a crap! Get a life! People on Facebook send me all kinds of Gifts, Farmland pieces and Mafia War stuff. Once again, who gives a crap people! People on Youtube making videos about the “Most Useless Facts!” I don’t have time for this CRAP and neither should YOU!

Social Media Crap!

We currently live in a New World Revolution. Opportunities are all around us and you are not willing to step up and take advantage of it. Now I’m not talking about getting in to a business and start using social media to SPAM people on the internet. Because that technique doesn’t work and once again it’s a bunch of crap! You truly need to understand technology and understand how you can position yourself TODAY to take advantage of this opportunity we have in front of us.

When was the last time you picked up a good book that could change your life? Just reading 10 pages of a good book, reading an excellent blog post, listening to positive audios rather than music could have a major impact on your current situation. But when was the last time you did any of these things?

Dawn and I just finished an excellent book called “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell. In this book Malcolm Gladwell talks about how it takes 10,000 hours of being in the right position to achieve massive success. What are you doing right now in your 10,000 hours that is going to secure yours and your family’s future? Working hard at your job making your boss rich or doing something to improve yourself?

We have four plus businesses with multiple location, go to our Networking meetings at least twice a week, build our blog, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and other social media sites, read great books and audios, walk the dog, exercise, take time with the family, help our girls with school functions and handle everything that life throws at us. And you don’t have enough time with your busy schedule. Give me a break! We are all busy but what are you busy doing? Get a life! Speaking of that, one of my favorite authors is Larry Winget. Want to read a good book that’s wake up call? Read Larry’s book “Shut Up, Stop Whining & Get A Life!”

I know this post is getting a little long but this is some good stuff! Nobody is going to change your life but YOU! The government isn’t going to bail you out if you are loosing your home. Your company doesn’t care about how this latest round of layoffs impacts your family. You need to take care of yourself and the time is now!

Social Media is the NEW Information Revolution if you position yourself correctly. Take a look at these stats and how long it took to become the norm. Radio 38 years, TV 13 years, the Internet 4 years, and the iPod 3 years to reach 50 million users–while Facebook reportedly added 200 million users in under a year. Think social media isn’t powerful when used correctly?

Have you ever really wanted to be at the right place at the right time but it just never seems to happen. Imagine walking in to that convenience store and having that hunch to buy that lottery ticket. Using Social Media properly could be that winning lottery ticket and the biggest shift in wealth since the industrial revolution!

So what are you doing when you use social media? Are you sharing information like “I just ate a Dill Pickle?” or are you positioning yourself to take advantage of what we have in front of us? It’s all up to you and your future depends on what you are doing right now at this very moment! Do you want things to change? Then you had better wake up and think about what you are doing or should I say, What You Could Be Doing!

How do “YOU” treat other people? Are you respectful and courteous or is it all about you? Do you treat people like you would like to be treated or are you going to be successful at “ANY COST”?

I can’t tell you how many people we come across in this industry or in life that are not respectful of others. So many times we are in a rush to get to a certain place in life that the attitude seems to be ME ME ME. Generation “X” is a perfect example of this – the I want it FAST and I want it NOW mentality. And why not? They grew up with everything at the push of a button. Can you imagine them using a rotatory phone? If some poor sap had a few “0’s” in their phone number, I bet you that they wouldn’t have any friends now days using that OLD rotatory phone. We are all in a rush these days but we need to step back and analyze how it’s impacting society.

Let take a look at the Good Ole Network Marketing industry. (Watch The Video Below) Technology has changed the way a lot of us do business now days. Case in point – The Internet. The internet has created an abundance of people that “ALL” want your products or services. Don’t we all wish this was the case! But it’s not and people need to learn how to use the proper techniques for approaching others.

Picture this! You have a brand new neighbor that just moves in next door. You walk over to introduce yourself. No longer than a couple of minutes go by and you start telling them about how great your business is and if they really want to be SUCCESSFUL in life, they have to join your business. First off, you know NOTHING about these people and what their dreams and aspirations are in life. You didn’t take the time to know them before you called them a LOSER and pushed your opportunity on them. This is no different than floating around social networking sites and spamming an opportunity on everyone you come across PERIOD

If you desire to be successful in your industry you need to drop the ME mentality and focus on being courteous. Using social media is only a tool and you need to be courteous and respect others in the process. Trust me, nobody gets into a person’s business only because of the opportunity. They want to first off relate with that person like a good neighbor and then in time, maybe they will join you on your path to SUCCESS!

I know a lot of you have already seen this video already but here is a little post to go along with it.

There are many ways to get in the game but you have to get OFF YOUR BUTT and JUST DO IT! Nobody is going to do it for you other than yourself PERIOD

So, do you want Fame? Fortune? Wealth? or Something Else? (And those words all have different meanings depending on you).

Well, what are you doing about it? Are you really in “The Game” or are you picking the splinters out of your behind on the sideline? hmmmm?

Really ask yourself this question. “Am I ALL IN or am I just KIND OF going after my dream?”

My Friends! If you really want this, you have to have a mindset of “I’m All In!!!” and to step out of your comfort zone. Let’s step out right now. REPEAT THESE LINES BELOW OUT LOUD! YES, I SAID OUT LOUD!

I will do whatever it takes for me to accomplish my dreams!
I am doing this for __________________ and that is my WHY!
People may laugh but they are simply afraid and are not laughing at me!
I will rise to the TOP! & I WILL NOT LET ANYONE stand in the way!

Was that very difficult? NO! Would that be easy “to do” and also easy “not to do?” YES!

If you truly want more in life, than you need to Get In The Game. Either that or watch for my next post and at the end of that post I’ll be selling TWEEZERS. Really folks, you all have the potential to become What Ever you desire in life.

But the BIG QUESTION is, What are “YOU” willing to do? hmmmm

Today I was at one of our business locations when I thought of this topic. Picture this; there was a group of young elementary students on a field trip at The Pier in St. Petersburg Florida. While getting ready for their trolley ride, I heard one of the group leaders yelling at the children and telling them to get in an orderly line and be quiet until the trolley gets there. Either DO IT or we’re not going on the trolley. And guess what, the children all got in line and quieted down. Why? Because they wanted something and unless they did what they were told, they thought that they might not be able to do it.

Using threats or other ways of persuasion has almost always been a factor in most of our lives for years. As a matter of fact, did you know that an average child growing up is told the word “NO” approximately 40,000 times compared to the word “YES” at only about 5,000 times? No wonder so many people struggle to become financially successful. We have been programmed to think that we cannot achieve certain things throughout our entire lives. Unless you overcome all this negativity, you will become like most of the masses just getting by.

I don’t know about you but, I don’t think that just getting by would be very much fun. If you want more in life you have to find out how to play by the rules but make the rules work for you. Now if one of those children I talked about earlier stepped out of line and wasn’t quiet they would have gotten in trouble. But the real question is, are you still standing in the line and being quiet yourself as an adult? In order to become successful you need to step out of that line and find a different trolley of your own. Following the group you now follow will get you the same results tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that! Now, do you want to stay in line with the masses or find a different trolley that will take you to success?

Ask Yourself One (Not Very Easy) Question. Who are the people I hang around with most and what are they doing to me?

Do your parents still tell you not to take chances or it’s too risky? Remember these are the people that probably told you “NO” 40,000 times and matched that with “YES” only 5,000 times.

Do you still live in your home town and get together with your old friends and only talk about the good old days?

Are you rushing off after work to Happy Hour vs. going to the Library and picking up a good book that could possibly change your life?

As they say, you become the average of your five closet friends/family members and etc… Think about it for a second. Have you ever caught yourself in that moment and thought to yourself, WOW I just sounded like my Mother/Father? Years of programming my friend, years of programming.

To become successful in life no matter what you consider success to be, you need to surround yourself with those people who are already successful in that area. If you want a great relationship, learn and surround yourself with people that have accomplished just that. If you want a healthier lifestyle, then go to the gym or health food stores and find some new friends. If you want to become a millionaire, then you had better start hanging out with millionaires too.

So in order to be successful you “MUST” surround yourself with those five people in whatever category you desire. (Here’s a hint to find them: They are the ones who stepped out of line as an adult and found their own trolley to success.)

Don’t we all love to play board games? How about a game that everyone will love because it teaches you how to create riches and a steady cash flow? The financial literacy who acquire not only helps you to win the game, but gives you the skills you can use in your real life to secure your own financial freedom.
No, it’s not Monopoly, but you could actually call it Monopoly on Steroids. The games real name is Cash Flow 101 and it was created by our favorite financial-freedom author, Robert Kiyosaki.

As we learned by reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, we all start in the “Rat Race”. The “Rat Race” is the never ending loop created when you only work for money. Unless you know that there is a fast track to riches just outside the rat race, we’ll all remain in the rat race and never experience true financial independence and freedom which comes when you make your money work for you.

Sadly most of us don’t even know we are stuck in the rat race. As Robert and his Rich Dad explained to him, strictly working a job (working for money) never provides true wealth and riches regardless of how many raises you receive. When we lack financial literacy, with each raise we are taxed at a higher rate and we buy liabilities rather than investment assets with our increased salary.

The key is to study how money works and learn to be rich, ie financial literacy; and guess what, it’s not taught in any schools, not even in graduate studies.

Kerstin’s perspective:
School and education can be rather challenging at times. However, some people realize that the ultimate challenges of life begin in adulthood, while others do not. I am a sophomore at Southeast High School, and I am enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program. Also, on every third Tuesday of the month, each student meets with his or her academy teacher, who helps the students put together a successful resume to be more likely accepted by potential employers. However, not one teacher explains the importance of passive income.

Passive income is the money one earns through investments, such as real estate, stocks, and self-owned businesses. By reading books like Rich Dad Poor Dad and Cash Flow Quadrants, and by playing the board game “Cash Flow 101″, all by Robert Kiyosaki, I have learned that having a job is only a small part of my future. If I ever want to fulfill all my fantasies, then I will need to find ways to make money work for me.

Furthermore, these books may be used as tools, but we must first learn how to use them. We must use the tools to acquire skills, then use everything we’ve received to build our dreams. For example, in life, we are not going to be handed “Opportunity Cards” with great deals written on them. We must search to find our own cards and create our own opportunities. Making it through life financially can be a struggle at times, but not if you know how to invest your money wisely.
Hi, I’m Nicole Cook and I’m thirteen years old. I’ve played the game of CashFlow 101 quite a few times and I recently won. CashFlow is a game that represents the financial part of life. In order to get out of the “rat race” you have to raise your passive income to be larger than your total expenses. To do that you need to invest your money in opportunities, such as stock or real estate. Once out of the “rat race”, you need to earn enough money to purchase your dream. This is a very good example of life.
Playing this game, I believe will improve my financial knowledge and will skyrocket my abilities to provide myself with a better life and future. Most children my age don’t understand how having a good job with good pay will not get you ahead in life. By investing money in opportunities that will make you money, you will do just that. I plan to have a good financially sound life and I know I couldn’t do it without my parents guidance and my understanding of the CashFlow 101 game.

I Love Larry Winget! This guy is direct, in your face, upfront and truthful about why people just don’t get it.

There’s noting complicated about his teaching, he just speaks the simple truth and believe it or not, most people don’t like hearing it. Meaning: Larry is a very entertaining speaker but he really makes you take a hard look at yourself rather than just using the positive thinking method that most motivational speakers teach.

If you really want to become a better person, a richer person, a smarter person or whatever type of person you want to become, then do it! Think about it. Nobody is going to do it other than you. So, if you want change, you have to change. PERIOD!

There aren’t too many “motivational” authors out there who will tell their readers to shut up and stop whining. But Larry Winget does not call himself a motivational speaker. In fact, he’s trademarked himself as “The World’s Only Irritational Speaker.”

So if you are rubbing crystals together, using the Law of Attraction in every part of your life and you don’t seem to be moving forward, then maybe you need to look in one other place to find the answers. YOU! It all comes back to you and your daily actions. Don’t get me wrong. I love using the law of attraction and it works for me whenever I really focus, but you also have to take action. Always wishing that things will become better isn’t action and action is what will move you forward. If you are broke, you had better take action to raise your financial IQ. Do you want a better love life? Then YOU need to change, not your partner. These are some of the “in your face” approaches Larry takes. Smooth and kind about how you are a screw-up is not the way Larry teaches!

It’s Easier To Be Stupid

That’s right. It’s easier to be stupid than it is to be smart.

Here are a few statistics that I read awhile back in one of Larry’s book. They still blow my mind today!

1. 80% of American’s didn’t buy a book last year.
2. 43% of American’s read below a 7th grade level.
3. 70% of American adults have not been in a bookstore in the last 5 years.
4. 58% of American adults never read a book after high school.
5. 42% of University Graduates NEVER read another book. WOW!

Another study reports only 14% of society would go in a bookstore or a library and actually walk out with a book. And only 10% of those would read past the first chapter.

In America approximately only 5% of people that retire can do so without some type of financial assistance e.g.; social security, pensions and etc…

People need to wake up and take responsibility for creating their own financial freedom. Working on their own self development is their key to freedom!

The question is, will they take the necessary steps to achieve it?

It is easier to listen to the political pundits and television news anchors and trust their words completely than it is to study, read, and search to discover the truth about a political issue or to actually read one of the bills or proposals you are so vehemently for or against.

It is easier to believe Rush or O’Reilly or Hannity or Olberman or Rachel or Beck or even Larry Winget than it is to actually do a little fact checking of your very own. It’s work to find the truth out about any issue, so it’s easier to just accept what you hear as fact.

It is easier to listen to the preachers and believe every word they say from their pulpit than it is to read the book yourself, or maybe lots of books and search for your own insight and develop your beliefs based on your own experiences.

It’s easier to just tow the party line because you are registered Democrat or Republican than it is to ask whether the party line makes sense or not.

Are you ready to take full responsibility for your own life so you can stop whining and enjoy the life you created? You won’t believe the positive changes you’ll make!
