Hello Dave

When starting to use Social Media as a tool. I was guilty of doing many of the Do you's in your list. I remember purchasing several of the guru's courses that suggest using Social Media but they did not teach the relationship building. Fortunately for me many people were kind and let me know what I was doing incorrectly and suggest the correct way. As you say unfortunately too many people using social media don’t understand the basic concepts. TSAmastery members are helping to alleviate the situation. On her blog Cherrie Bautista has a post, "Learn To Give Back Using Social Media", which has ways to give and build relationships. Dave, taking a look at at your question from a funny comedian’s perspective as Jeff Foxworthy is very effective.

Thanks

No Dave! We mustn't cave in and become Social Media Prostitutes like the other 90%!!! Why? Because they just won't last with very few solid relationships. It's crazy to jump on to someone straight away and pitch pitch pitch, it doesn't happen in the offline business world so it should not happen online. It's tacky, spammy and does not sit well with me. Plus it is devaluing the face of Network Marketing.

The person you are meeting for the first time is a real person why not "take them out to dinner and a movie" first and get to know them as a real person not a potential dollar sign! Justin and I have built so many friendships online and in particular TSA, we've got a great network of like-minded people and we all work together to achieve fantastic results (much more fruitful than jumping in someones face so to speak).

Great article Dave.

Cheers,

Spot on Dave - authenticity and integrity is what creates depth and quality in relationships - there's way too much automated disingenuous 'chasing' of numbers that is a red flag for churn and burn.

Personally i' rather receive no message than an automated 'hey dude great to catch up check out my blog blah, blah - don't think so! Leave a relevant comment, retweet, like, etc and now I'm curious about you! most people still don't get it

Thanks for sharing

Cheers Kiaran

New tools, new shifts always call for new approaches to doing things. The thing with social media today regarding marketing is it is demanding people to remember the basis of being human. This of course will pay off long term on many many levels and some of them could be monetary.

The whole point of "social" media is to make it "social", meaning actively engage, a push-pull thing. If you're constantly pushing then you might be a Social Media Rapist! lol
