Dr. Nicholas Perricone
We were introduced to Dr. Perricone in March 2008. Among other great books,
Dr. Perricone wrote a book called “The Perricone Promise-Look Younger, Live Longer in Three Easy Steps”. This book was one of the key marketing tools for our first network marketing business. The significance of this book was that Dr. Perricone promotes ten Super Foods and the #1 Super Food is the Acai berry, an abundantly nutritious fruit that grows on Acai Palm trees in Brazil in the lush Amazon. The Acai berry is the star ingredient of MonaVie, a nutritional beverage.
Dr. Perricone describes in detail all the nutritional benefits of the Acai berry as his chosen first super food along with nine other equally beneficial super foods. We were amazed by the variety of super foods. A couple of these items we were already eating and others we had not even heard of. Since reading this book, our base knowledge of nutrition is greatly enhanced, and we are now focusing on eating some super foods to improve our health. Our favorite of the super foods is nuts; they are so easy to eat and are a tasty snack. Dr. Perricone has a recommended 28-Day Perricone Program utilizing the ten super foods along with exercise and recipes for preparation in the last section of this book. Per Dr. Perricone, you will look and feel younger after following this 28-day program.
In addition to focusing on the super foods, Dr. Perricone starts the book with a lesson on how our bodies need and use nutrients and the impact on our immune and other body systems. He also explains the negative impacts of over-indulgence in the three food items that happen to all be white for easy memory: sugar, salt and flour. Each of these food items can be bad for our bodies and due to lack of knowledge; many of us do not monitor our intake and unknowingly cause damage to our health.
We were one of the many lacking in knowledge on nutrition, but with Dr. Perricone’s help, we are now pro-active in taking full responsibility for our health. We are very happy about that very significant change we have made in our lives. We also have to give credit to MonaVie and our sponsor for starting us on the path to pro-active wellness.
If you are serious about using food and nutrition, rather than drugs, to improve your overall health, Dr. Perricone should also be one of your mentors! You will feel better and your body will thank you in many ways.
